What are Nuggets of Truth?

Sooner or later we will come to recognise that God's Words are a cache of jewels. They are laced with veins of treasures from which we can nourish our minds. Not only has He placed nuggets of truth in His words, but he litters our lives with little coincidences, twists and turns, Tzp moments to inform and direct our path to truth and understanding. So far in this lesson we have learned 5 truths for living a life ignited with purpose and praise.

Nugget #5 The Rhythm of the Dance

Amethyst Nugget

I still have trouble with the spelling of that pesky little word rhythm. But perhaps this personal challenge fits in with the purpose for this nugget of truth. In checking for the spelling of 'rythym' I came across the urban dictionary definition- 'the act of keeping a beat when music is unavailable.'
I realised that this definition aligns itself well with the rhythm of the dance of life. Even though there is no audible music we find our souls in perfect harmony with our higher purpose when we dance to the beat of God's drum. When on life's undulating ebb and flow of joys and sorrows we develop a rhythmical way of interacting with our God, we will have discovered not mere happiness, but Joy. Even when circumstances do not lend itself to a celebratory dance, if you waltz with the Way Maker you won't miss a beat. When your passion aligns with your purpose, you dance like david danced. People will witness the pep in your step, your way of moving through the world with rhythmic peace and grace but you will be a mystic to their untrained ear and eyes. Just tell them that you are saved, sanctified, spirit filled and you're dancing for your life.... then make nice and extend an invitation for them to join in the rythym(sic) of the dance.

Children - A Reflection of God's Glory

"I'll have to make a mental note to remind myself to come to the book club after school." "Mom you look beautiful in that turquoise color, it really complements your skin."
When these adult like statements effortlessly glide off the tongue of your 7 year old, you can't help but smile in wonder at how quickly children acquire a mastery of language. Solomon's wit, the exquisite rose, earth's mineral treasures - these things all pale in comparison to God's most precious gift to humanity. The gift of children. Gaze into the eyes of a child filled with wonder, conviction, innocence and see what our all knowing Father has planted there - a clue to how we should navigate the journey. Unless we become like children, we'll not make it into his kingdom. Be deliberate in your protection, guidance, teaching, ministry to children and guard fiercely their dignity. Listen closely, if you dare, to the little messages that our children share- they are clear and pure nuggets of truth that have travelled across eternal spaces from our Creator. A glorious message of goodness and light that seeks an aperture within which to ignite your spirit!

River Treasures - Nugget #3

When peace like a river..comes down...a change will occur....

Star of India- Said to be the most famous sapphire discovered in Sri Lanka, where excellent sapphires are still to be found in deposits of sand and gravel left by ancient rivers

One of my favorite and most treasured pastimes in the world is to sit by a river. Any river will do as long as it is moving. Whether it be somewhere, in Sudbury, Ontario, Kakamega Kenya, Istanbul Turkey, Avon in Bath or my favorite of all, the Rocky River in Clarendon. Here I frolicked as a child in the shallow and the deep ( blissfully oblivious to the fact that I couldn't swim) My father was also born by this river in a little house with a red roof. And just like the river he was running for his life. Thankfully he found it and today his soul rests in peace. When life's storms buffet you, find you a river, whether it's in an exotic locale or just the one formed from the tracks of your tears. There, be still and find peace, find a happy place knowing that change is gonna come and it is well with your soul.

The Heart of Listening

Tread softly and listen closely amidst the din of life. Please shut up for a moment and listen as others may seek to tell you of their joy and pain. Look beyond words and see the burden they might bear. I recently took the time to listen closely to someone and heard for the first time what she has tried to communicate for years. I suddenly connected with what I was afraid to hear - Her pain and suffering at the hands of abusers. I struggled to find words of comfort, but finally gave us both over to The Great Comforter who looks beyond our faults and sees our need.
Listen to the words below from my heart to yours - Zpora

Listen to hands and eyes, smiles and tears
Read the messages written there

Listen to your loved ones - accept the love they are giving
Listen to your student - as they tell you how they learn
Listen to your children - see if they are hurting.
Listen to the abuser - offer the help for which they yearn.
Listen to screams of anger -seek and find the seat of discontent.
Listen to your heartbeat, the wind, - the rhythm of the falling rain
Listen to your spirit - Therein lies discernment and enlightenment

Listen with your third ear pressed against heaven’s window pane
As you seek to manage humanity’s earthly pain.

Loosen the Reins

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in
Christ Jesus.” – Phil 4:19

As capitalism seems to implode across the global stage, it nudges us to reposition our reigns of control. Let go of that time clock, wall street journal, unemployment data, your iphone and hand over the reins, raise your hands above your head and back away slowly. Now give your God a praise. God has a masterplan for your life- in fact Word has it that he had it down before you were even formed in your mother's womb. Let go and let God take control of your life, your loves, your lifestyle, your livelihood. He's got this. He'll direct your path in funny little unexpected ways ( Be warned: His humor may seem a little twisted at times) and when you get a glimpse of the M.O. of this CEO your soul will look back in wonder. I am telling you it will make you laugh out loud, sing out loud, dance out loud. It's a new system of governance for your life. Post laissez faire (aka kingdom come theory). Very simple formula - Cain's (not Abel's brother) can't touch this. Write this phrase down in your iphone (yes, you may pick it up now for this PURPOSE) - 'Lose control to Gain control'
